XXX: Return of Cage is also filled with laughable one-liners. And the glorification of the protagonist is too arrogant. What’s more, the ludicrous action sequences are sometimes obscured by editing.
As a franchise fan, I was disappointed with the movie. Vin Diesel was great as Xander Cage, but the storyline and characters needed to be more flimsy.
Subversive parody
Return of Xander Cage is the third sequel to the original XXX movie. In this sequel, Xander Cage (played by Vin Diesel) is not dead and is on a mission to help the NSA get a top-secret gadget before the bad guys take over.
As it turns out, the XXX sequel has much to offer in the action department. It features a bunch of new action stars, a nifty storyline and plenty of macho mayhem. And a glance at the cast list indicates that the sequel is for more than just the American audience.
The XXX sequel is a throwback to testosterone-fuel machismo. But it’s also one of the better sequels of recent years. Some of the action is pretty slick, and the movie does an excellent job of tying the past into the present.
While the film isn’t exactly a masterpiece, it’s an enjoyable ride for fans of slapstick and a good time. Plus, it’s not all that far off from the original XXX. Unlike the original, the sequel takes some of its inspiration from the Fast and Furious franchise, which also knows how to have fun with its excesses.
There are several clever sequences here, especially those above ‘hot potato’ with live grenades. But overall, Return of Xander Cage is an overwrought piece of cinematic fast food. So, while the aforementioned is an excellent example of the ‘Moves you’re Made’, the film’s more exciting take on the same theme is more of a ‘Hollywood’ relic’.
It’s the movie to watch for the horny teenager on the loose. It’s also the movie to watch if you’re a parent, a geek or just a fan of a good time.
Outrageous stunts in XXX
“XXx: Return of Xander Cage” is an action movie that features over-the-top stunts. It’s the third film in the xXx franchise and the sequel to xXx: State of the Union.
The lead character Xander Cage (Vin Diesel), performed incredible stunts in the first two films. For example, in xXx, he was thrown from a C5-sized plane without a parachute. He also completed an aerial manoeuvre known as “cork 7,” which involved an aerial flipping manoeuvre.
However, he’s one of many to do a stunt in the film. There are several professional freeskiers and stunt performers in the movie. This is a testament to the film’s stunt work, which is the main attraction.
The movie also features the stunts of Jeremy Steinberg, who has a history of performing daredevil stunts. At the age of two, he began riding motorbikes.
Tim Rigby is another actor with a history of soaring to the top of the world’s tallest buildings. After spending five years in the British Royal Navy, he moved to Hollywood. Eventually, he became an avid base jumper.
Several other stunt performers appear in the film, including trick motorcyclist Jack Field. This is a great chance to watch some of the most innovative stunt performers on the planet.
Other action sequences include surfing on a motorcycle. The film’s title suggests the NSA has a superagent program, but it’s just a plot. It’s a gimmick to entice fans of the Fast and the Furious franchise.
Unfortunately, it’s also an action movie that lacks substance. There are some hilarious moments, but it also has a bunch of cliche dialogue and over-the-top stunts. Even though it’s rated PG-13, it has some violence and sexual content.
Objectified women in Return of Xander Cage

Movie appeal to foreign audiences
Return of Xander Cage is the third instalment in the xXx series. This film was directed by D.J. Caruso and starred actor Vin Diesel as Xander Cage. The title refers to the eponymous antihero who was presumed dead but who is returned to action.
There are a lot of awe-inspiring action scenes in this movie. One of them involves a 400-foot jump from a TV tower in skis. Other stunts include snowboarding through trees and a longboard ride in the Dominican Republic.
The cast is international, which helps ensure a strong global audience. Nicolas Cage, who played in the Fast Five series, has a team that includes a Chinese DJ, a sassy lesbian sniper, and a Glaswegian stunt driver.

In the first movie, Samuel L. Jackson’s character Augustus Gibbons was a top-notch government agent who ran the NSA’s Triple X spy program. Here, he’s recruited by Jane Marke (Toni Collette), who bets she can do better than the old-school agents.
There’s plenty of eye candy in the “xXx: Return of Xander Cage,” but it’s not nearly as good as the previous two entries. And the film’s plot is weaker than its action.
For example, the film’s title reveals that a stolen superweapon called the Pandora Box can disable thousands of satellites, but it’s an empty sequence.
